On lunar calendar, August 15th is the Mid-autumn Festival for many peoples in Asia. It's a time when the hot summer is gone, the harvest is done and families get together to celebrate. It is also usually a time of the year when the sky is clear and the moon is especially bright. Therefore the big full moon became the center of many activities. The festival is even sometimes known as the Moon Festival. Throughout the history, many beautiful poems and proses were written on this occasion. Missing loved ones who are not present at the gathering or being lonely and away from them and thinking of them are common themes for these writings.
